Many people believe in knowing the future. This is just inquisitiveness in many of us. Many think by knowing the future, they can act accordingly.  Many seers of the past have made various methods to predict the future. Astrology is one of such methods. There are many types of Astrologies.  These types vary as per the techniques used by the seer. In India, most of us follow Vedic Astrology. These methods are written in the Vedas.  In the ancient days there was a sage known as Parashara. He had made a classified compendium on Astrology. The other sages namely Bhrigu and Jaimini also wrote astrology. The astrological methods used by Jaimini differ from that of the astrological methods followed by Parashara.  However, the astrological methods prescribed by Parashara are widely followed by Indian Astrologers who claim to be using Vedic methods for analysis of horoscopes.

The other seers younger than Parashara, Bhrigu and Jaimini were Barahamihira and Kalidasa in India. Both Barahamihira and Kalidasa refer to Vedic Astrology.

In the 20th and 21st  century, noted astrologers who refer to Vedic Astrology are B. V. Raman and Krishna Murthy. However, many qualified and popular astrologers are available in our country now-a-days. Krishna Murthy, popularly known as KP has made a method known as “Stellar Astrological Method” for making astrological predictions.

It is said that “Other than Brahma, (the Deity of Creation as per Vedas), no one can accurately predict future”.  Still, astrologers predict as per the method prescribed by the ancient seers. Many a people also believe in these astrological predictions.

In gist, astrology is a predictive science and Vedic Astrology is believed to be one of the best predictive methods.
