Marriage match as per Vedic Astrology has a lot of significance. Here, the horoscopes of the proposed couple is examined in detail from many angles. There are parameters like Nadi, Yoni, Bhakut, Gana etc. Weightages are given for each and every parameter as per the horoscope of the boy and the girl. If the marks are more than 50% of the total marks i.e. 36, then the marriage between these natives is recommended. 

However, one can also have a short-cut method. Say, if both the couples have the same saign, or they are 4-10, 11-3, 7-7, then we say that this is Raja Yotaka or royal match and we recommend blindly, saying that the marriage is fine from many angles. As for an example, for 7-7, say, if the boy has Aries sign and the girl had Libra sign, then it is 7-7 means, the girls sign is 7th from the boy's sign and vice versa. This is an example of Royal Match and the marriage is blindly accepted or recommended.

However, it is better to check the various attributes and calculate the total marks. If the total marks become better than 18 (as the total mark is 36), the marriage is recommended.  

In marriage match, let us discuss the various parameters one by one:

The First Parameter: Nadi: 

Astrology operates with 27 stars (Nakshatras). They are posted to three nadis. So in each nadi there are 7 nakshtras. The first nadi is known as Adya Nadi. The second nadi is known as Madhya Nadi. The third nadi is known as Antya Nadi. So 9 stars are included in each of these nadis. Each person has one star when he is born. So as per the start of the native, it could be Adya, Madhya or Antya.

Marriage is recommended, if the nadi of the boy and the nadi of the girl are dissimilar. As for an example, if the nadi of the boy falls in Adya Nadi and the nadi of the girl belongs to Madhya or Antya Nadi, then marriage is recommended. So in effect, the nadi of both the boy and girl should not be similar i.e. if the nadi of the boy belongs to Adya and also the nadi of the girl belongs to Adya, then the marriage between these two natives is not recommended.
