We have already stated that Astrology is a predictive science. Again we said that “Lord Brahma, the creator of this Universe can alone predict future accurately”. Then is it scientific?

The methods or the procedures of prediction are scientific in astrological analysis.

The Native Chart is composed of 12 cusps and each cusp is of 30 degrees. So there are 360 degrees. Now by looking at the Gross Planetary Position of the Native Chart and making the prediction makes the probability of accurateness of prediction less than 30%.

So an astrologer, who predicts from a Gross Chart of a Native, cannot affirm that the prediction is scientific. From a Gross View of a human being, you can tell about his height, about his complexion, about his walking style and may be about the speed with which he is walking at present. You can also tell from his walking or running speed, in how many seconds, he can reach the target (every other parameter remaining the same). Since you are unaware of his health conditions, you cannot tell, in a 200 meter running race, whether he will reach the target in healthy body and mind or not.
So in astrological predictions, Gross Chart will give you some ideas about the human being, may be about his physical stature, or about his characteristics in a normal situation etc. But it is difficult to tell, whether his career persuasion will reap good results or not; if his marriage partner will become favourable to him or not etc.

So to analyze the horoscope in a scientific manner, you have to check the planetary positions with respect to moon as well as with respect to the position of the ascendant. Secondly, the strengths of the planets are to be determined by assessing their strengths as per the Basic Chart and also as per the Navamsa Chart.

Basically, the planet and its disposition are to be meticulously studied to make scientific judgement about the native’s position. The other parameters are: relationship, benevolence, aspects, Gochara (present planetary position in the galaxy), association, house effect, karaka (main responsibility), brilliance etc.

So, in this back drop, one can say that, the results in astrological books are written in a Gross manner. The planetary positions are to be studied from all angles to map the results for a situation to predict.

A person, who does this way, the predictions become SCIENTIFIC.

This is the reason, why astrological predictions are to be made in a scientific manner.
